Freshwater

Located in the wilds of Wyoming, the name Freshwater was chosen as a Western analogy to Christ. Just as He is the Living Water, and we must have Him to have eternal life, any desert dweller knows the importance of fresh water to life, both for self, and the nourishment of crops or livestock. By taking nourishment in God and His word, we strengthen our own relationship with Him, our faith, and the quality and abundance of our fruitfulness.

Our keystone verse is from Jeremiah, Chapter 17, Verse 8: "For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see whenSave heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."

The fruit that we speak of is mentioned in Galatians 5:22
"22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

And the heat could be anything we experience that might test our faith in God; trials and tribulations, relationships, anything that focuses our love and attention anywhere but on Him...

Lemon Sugar Cookies July 2024

I've made these before, but I never video, except for maybe a bit of the mixer, so it's a new experience for me! I was having way too much fun making videos, so I understand if it's overkill :).

It's a well loved and worn paper recipe :).  The original can be found at  Lemons and Zest . I did double it, so if it looks like I'm using more than the measurements say, that's why.  I do use the amount of flour listed, but add 2 Tbs (each batch, so 4 this time) for high altitude. I also use a whole egg instead of just the yolk.

The Cast of Characters:

Dry Ingredients in their very own bowl.

Combined the butter and sugar and mixed until light and fluffy.

Add Lemon Zest, Eggs, and Vanilla

And I lost track of videos, so there is either one twice right above me, or there will be one repeated right now. For some reason I'm only seeing the previews and not the actual video.

I keep my plastic wrap in the freezer to help it be easier to handle.

I wrapped the dough in plastic and set it in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes to make it easier to work with when I rolled the cookies.

Needed a cup of tea to go with my baking :).

or two....

                            Preheat the oven...

Vacuum sealing the bags reminded me of this mystery I read recently.
