Freshwater

Located in the wilds of Wyoming, the name Freshwater was chosen as a Western analogy to Christ. Just as He is the Living Water, and we must have Him to have eternal life, any desert dweller knows the importance of fresh water to life, both for self, and the nourishment of crops or livestock. By taking nourishment in God and His word, we strengthen our own relationship with Him, our faith, and the quality and abundance of our fruitfulness.

Our keystone verse is from Jeremiah, Chapter 17, Verse 8: "For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see whenSave heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."

The fruit that we speak of is mentioned in Galatians 5:22
"22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

And the heat could be anything we experience that might test our faith in God; trials and tribulations, relationships, anything that focuses our love and attention anywhere but on Him...

Denise's Diner - Edgerton, WY

3/25/2020 *Denise's is still open for takeout, though their hours have changed. Please call           (307) 437-6299 for up to date information.

There's a new little gem nestled in the valley of Highway 387, just after you've turned off 259 and are headed out of Edgerton towards Wright or Gillette (South Dakota is also a destination along that route). Denise's Diner occupies the old site of the Edgerton Cafe, which closed several years ago. Denise has completely updated the building, new restrooms, bright and friendly decor, beautiful exterior.

We have been to Denise's several times since the doors opened at the end of February 2020. It is a walk in and seat yourself welcoming kind of place. It is almost always busy and the staff there greet you with a smile.

The food is good. They are brand new, so there are sometimes still a few kinks, but when you walk in at 5 PM,order coffee, and they make you a fresh pot with a smile, knowing most of it is going down the drain in a couple of hours, that's why you go back.

I have heard raves about the french toast, and my daughter and niece really enjoyed it. The pie has a good reputation, as do the milk shakes. Their hashbrowns were crispy, not soggy, and cooked just right. My favorite though, is definitely the burgers. Every burger I have eaten there has been tender and juicy, cooked to perfection and just melt in your mouth. With fun names and flavors like the "Clutch Burger" (jalapenos and pepperjack), and the "Sweet Heat Burger" (Signature, homemade sweet heat sauce), I would definitely give this place a try!

Pricewise it's fair and comparable to other restaurants of this type. Our family of four can eat there for forty dollars or less. Free refills on beverages, and a cup of (very good) coffee is only $1.50.

I think this was biscuits and gravy, but I took the photo a little late!

Cheese Omelette  - Later on I had one with mushrooms and Swiss, and it was also delicious!

My husband and I often split, and they will bring it out on two plates at no extra charge. This is the Chili Burger with Green Chili (they have red as well).

Green chili

Adult Grilled Cheese can also be ordered with ham.

Homemade ranch is excellent! Thick and creamy, and tastes great!

Generously sized strawberry shakes rounded out the meal.

Excellent coffee - By the Bean

They offer several different sweeteners, including both a Splenda and Stevia type, which I haven't found a lot of places.

Curly fries are always a choice! We haven't ordered the onion rings yet, so no photos of those.

This is The Philly Cheesesteak and Fries, and it was GOOOOOD.

Spicy Breakfast Burrito with Red Chili

French Toast (you can also get it with eggs and/or meat)

They offer traditional half and half, but will bring out a pitcher of real milk if you prefer that with your coffee.

Chicken Fried Steak

More french toast! It's a fan favorite around here.

I don't even remember what this is! I think it's a chili burger.

Adult Grilled Cheese with Fries

Adult Grilled Cheese with Fries up top and BLT below, also with fries.
That is the Mother Trucker.

Look how huge it is!!!

Today I had the Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich and Potato Rounds....very good!
