Freshwater

Located in the wilds of Wyoming, the name Freshwater was chosen as a Western analogy to Christ. Just as He is the Living Water, and we must have Him to have eternal life, any desert dweller knows the importance of fresh water to life, both for self, and the nourishment of crops or livestock. By taking nourishment in God and His word, we strengthen our own relationship with Him, our faith, and the quality and abundance of our fruitfulness.

Our keystone verse is from Jeremiah, Chapter 17, Verse 8: "For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see whenSave heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."

The fruit that we speak of is mentioned in Galatians 5:22
"22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

And the heat could be anything we experience that might test our faith in God; trials and tribulations, relationships, anything that focuses our love and attention anywhere but on Him...

Slacker

I know.  I have been completely slacking!  Things have been very busy here.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family, a crazy busy work day at the Haven where we accomplished so much, and are sliding back into our routine, just in time for more craziness! :)

All of our Christmas cards are written and addressed, the letter is written and needs to be printed, along with some family photos.  I think I'll take up a blog entry with the publishing of the letter as well!  I'm settling the kids down to watch some DVR'd Christmas movies in front of the TV while I take the folding table in our room to wrap some more presents!  I've been trying to prepare the FlyLady way and do a little at a time, ahead of time, instead of staying up till midnight three nights in a row to get it all done (like I could stay up till midnight anyway)!

Headed grocery shopping on Friday, we'll be able to start making potica, a batch of Christmas cookies to mail, and FlyLady's Mocha Mix.

Always remembering, that the real reason for the Christmas season is Jesus Christ, and the gift of eternal life. It's important not to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, the "I want this, Gimme that!" mentality, but to remember why we celebrate at all!
