We hear what other people think all the time. What God thinks of us is most important. We compare ourselves to other people, but what God thinks of us is what really matters.
Who are we in Christ?
1. We are the church. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.14 For the body is not one member, but many.
Jesus Christ is the head of the church. We the people are His body We are His hands and feet in this world. We do good works not for salvation, but to share Christ with others. If we have accepted Christ as our Savior the Holy Spirit has entered us and we are part of the church, the body of Christ.
2. We are new creatures. 2 Corinthians 5:17 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
3. We are forgiven. Ephesians 2:1-52 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
4. We are saints—He has made us saints. Not by doing good things, but by accepting Him as our Savior. 1 Corinthians 1:2 2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: We are the Children of God John 1:1212 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: , Galatians 3:26 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
5. We are blessed and We are chosen. Ephesians 1:3-43 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
