Freshwater

Located in the wilds of Wyoming, the name Freshwater was chosen as a Western analogy to Christ. Just as He is the Living Water, and we must have Him to have eternal life, any desert dweller knows the importance of fresh water to life, both for self, and the nourishment of crops or livestock. By taking nourishment in God and His word, we strengthen our own relationship with Him, our faith, and the quality and abundance of our fruitfulness.

Our keystone verse is from Jeremiah, Chapter 17, Verse 8: "For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see whenSave heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."

The fruit that we speak of is mentioned in Galatians 5:22
"22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

And the heat could be anything we experience that might test our faith in God; trials and tribulations, relationships, anything that focuses our love and attention anywhere but on Him...

Slow Saturday Morning - Okay, it's really Thursday

I am sitting here staring at the blank screen, thinking I should be able to come up with something to write today!  However, words fail me.  It just dawned on me that we forgot to get up and go help with Bountiful Baskets...Then it dawned on me it's Thursday, and we don't help with Bountiful Baskets till Saturday...I think I'm in limbo land!

I have all these fantastic ideas, but they always happen when I am in the shower, or driving down the road, and I really don't have any clue how to remember them long enough to get them on paper!

I know I made a committment to blog daily, but so far it kind of feels like I am cheating.  Copying song lyrics or posting a video of songs that we sang on Sunday seems like the easy way out!

Today I am going to attempt a little crafting.  Maybe I can get some mileage out of showing you what I build!  Have a great day everyone, and God Bless!

My Story by Big Daddy Weave

If I told you my story
You would hear Hope that wouldn't let go
And if I told you my story
You would hear Love that never gave up
And if I told you my story
You would hear Life, but it wasn't mine

If I should speak then let it be
Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

If I told you my story
You would hear victory over the enemy
And if I told you my story
You would hear freedom that was won for me
And if I told you my story
You would hear Life overcome the grave

If I should speak then let it be
Of the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior all the day long

For the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell
For the grace that is greater than all my sin
Of when justice was served and where mercy wins
Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him
Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior all the day long

I know, I know.  I am such a bum.  I just got back on track, and here I am, just plain forgetting to set finger to keyboard for several days.

I could do a playlist from yesterday, or just write random reflections...Paul and I were talking yesterday, and we were thinking of recording his sermons to podcast them, but it might actually be easier just to videotape them.  Then we can load them to YouTube and share them via facebook, twitter, and this blog.

Yesterday we had a mix of old and new music; Grace Greater Than Our Sin, Flawless by Mercy Me, the Blood Medley we arranged a few years ago (Nothing But the Blood, Are You Washed, There is Power in the Blood), Blessed Assurance, Chris Tomlin's Jesus Love Me, and our circle song was 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman.

Music of the Heart

I absolutely love music.  It is my world, and there are songs from many different genres that drive me to laughter, and to tears.  I love the music at Sportsman's Warehouse because they play such a wide variety, and I am often seen trying to get my husband to dance in the aisles (their floor is fabulous for spinning).  Occasionally I even get my daughters to stop being embarrassed long enough to join me!

I started this post as one of my favorite songs ever was playing, one that makes me tear up everytime, just thinking about God's love for me, no matter what.  I love a lot of songs, but Jesus Loves Me by Chris Tomlin is definitely one of my favorites.

Hello Friends!

I know it's been so long since I've written!  So many blog ideas have passed through my mind, but I never seem to transpose them all the say to the screen.

I am back.  I am not promising that everything I write will be witty or brilliant, but I am going to sit down and write every day.  Maybe I will use some of those blog ideas I have stored away, maybe I will just ramble, but there will be words on the page :).

Thank you, dear reader for being here!
